The ICCPAE Online Monologue Challenge is a bold and dynamic initiative from ICCPAE, a prestigious LAMDA-registered Centre, designed to unleash the actor within and provide aspiring performers with a platform to shine. This competition emphasizes creativity, self-expression, and the power of storytelling, giving young talents the opportunity to showcase their skills and captivate audiences, taking their first steps towards stardom.

As an esteemed centre for the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) qualifications, ICCPAE nurtures talent with the highest standards of dramatic education. Whether you're stepping onto a stage for the first time or perfecting your acting craft, the ICCPAE Monologue Challenge is your moment to shine. At ICCPAE, we believe in the transformative power of performance, not just for individuals but for entire communities.

Category A: Age group 8-12

Rubric Focus: Encouragement of self-expression, imagination, and understanding of basic emotions through performance.

  • Expression & Emotional Connection (30%): Ability to connect with the audience through vocal expression and basic emotion.

  • Clarity & Articulation (25%): Clear speech, articulation of words, and appropriate voice modulation.

  • Creativity & Engagement (25%): Creativity in choice of monologue and effort to engage the audience with enthusiasm.

  • Body Language & Gestures (20%): Use of body language, facial expressions, and gestures to enhance storytelling.

Category B: Age group 13-16

Rubric Focus: Deeper interpretation of character, emotional complexity, and technical skills in delivery.

  • Characterization & Authenticity (30%): Ability to portray a character convincingly, understanding their emotions, motives, and context.

  • Voice Modulation & Expression (25%): Effective use of voice to express nuances, including tone, pace, and pitch variation.

  • Creative Interpretation & Engagement (20%): Interpretation of the monologue with originality, and ability to engage the audience fully.

  • Stage Presence & Physicality (25%): Confident use of stage space, appropriate gestures, and facial expressions that enhance the performance.

Category C: Age Group 17-22 

Rubric Focus: Advanced performance skills, in-depth character analysis, and mastery of monologue delivery.

  • Emotional Depth & Complexity (35%): Ability to convey complex emotions and present a multi-layered portrayal of character.

  • Artistic Interpretation & Nuance (25%): Original interpretation of the monologue, showing insight into theme, subtext, and context.

  • Technical Delivery & Articulation (20%): Use of advanced vocal techniques, such as breath control, projection, and enunciation.

  • Engagement & Performance Presence (20%): Confidence, charisma, and connection with the audience, creating a memorable and impactful performance.

Awards & Prizes

Main Prizes (Per Category)

  1. First Prize: ₹ 5000 and Certificate + Full scholarship to an ICCPAE program (e.g., LAMDA certification), trophy, and certificate.

  2. Second Prize: ₹4000 and Certificate + 50% scholarship to ICCPAE programs

  3. Third Prize: ₹3000  and certificate + 25% scholarship to ICCPAE programs

Special Feature: The winning monologue from each category will be featured on the official ICCPAE website, giving participants the opportunity to showcase their talent to a wider audience.

Certificates

  • Winners in each category will receive a proper, printed certificate of achievement at the awards ceremony.
